Jamshedpur, June 20: To ensure the smooth, fair and peaceful conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21, the district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across all examination centres in the Dhalbhum subdivision.
The re-test, being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi, will be held from 2 pm to 5.15 pm for general candidates, while specially-abled candidates will be allowed until 6.15 pm to complete the examination.
Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer Arnav Mishra issued the order to maintain law and order, safeguard public security, and prevent any unfair practices during the examination. Under the restrictions, the use or possession of mobile phones and other electronic devices, carrying study materials for cheating, gatherings of more than five persons for sloganeering or speeches, display or carrying of weapons, use of loudspeakers, fireworks, and any public assembly likely to disturb peace and harmony have been prohibited within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres.
The restrictions, however, will not apply to candidates holding valid admit cards or personnel officially engaged in examination-related duties.
The prohibitory order will remain in force from 10:00 pm on June 20 until 9:00 pm on June 21. Violators will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant provisions of law.
The district administration has appealed to candidates, parents and the general public to cooperate with authorities and adhere to the prescribed guidelines to ensure the examination is conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.
