Jamshedpur: Speaking to the media on the sidelines of CII Manufacturing Conclave East, SK Behera, Chairman, CII Eastern Region & Vice Chairman & Managing Director, RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd highlighted the rapid growth of India’s manufacturing sector amidst increasing investments.
Addressing concerns over political instability affecting investment in states like Jharkhand and the aftermath of the Singur incident in Bengal, Behera noted, “The auto industry’s reluctance to invest here has direct repercussions on local youth. Governments must ensure a conducive environment and transcend political barriers to attract investments, especially in the automotive sector.”
He pointed out that significant investments are flowing into states like Odisha, citing a recent seminar where positive assurances were received from the state government. Behera expressed optimism about the future of India’s manufacturing sector, attributing it to robust support from the central government and ongoing initiatives.
“The path forward for the manufacturing sector looks promising,” Behera concluded, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts between industry and governments to realize these opportunities effectively.
