Police raid Double Down Bar Operator’s House, Seize Vehicles  

Jamshedpur: Police conducted a second consecutive raid at the Mango residence of BJP leader and Double Down Bar operator Niraj Singh as part of the ongoing investigation into the Himanshu Singh murder case and the incident at the Bistupur bar.

A joint team comprising personnel from the Bistupur, Mango and MGM police stations carried out the search operation at around 5 pm on Wednesday. Officers thoroughly searched the premises and reportedly seized several mobile phone boxes and important documents, including Aadhaar cards. The entire search operation was also videographed by the police.

Fortuner, Kia seized during operation

During the raid, police seized a Fortuner SUV and a Kia car parked outside the residence and took both vehicles to the Bistupur police station for further investigation.

Family members alleged that the police assaulted the family’s driver, identified as Raju, before taking him into custody. They also claimed that police personnel prevented them from recording the operation on their mobile phones and behaved rudely during the raid.

Eleven named in FIR, police yet to issue official statement

Police had earlier raided Niraj Singh’s residence on the night of June 29. The back-to-back searches are part of the intensified investigation into the Double Down Bar incident and the murder of Karni Sena youth leader Himanshu Singh outside the establishment.

A total of 11 persons, including Niraj Singh, have been named as accused in the case. However, the police administration has not yet issued an official statement regarding Wednesday’s raid or the seizure of vehicles and documents.
