DD Pub Stabbing: Six SITs Formed to Hunt Himanshu Singh killers, New SSP to Join Today 

Jamshedpur: The police department has swung into full action following the brutal murder of Karni Sena youth leader Himanshu Singh outside DD Pub and Bar in Bistupur. The police have mobilized all resources to ensure the immediate arrest of the absconding killers and have constituted six Special Investigation Teams (SITs).

These teams are being led by the City SP, Rural SP, CCR DSP, and two Headquarters DSPs, among other police officials. The operation to apprehend the accused has been significantly intensified following a marathon meeting held on Wednesday night between top officials and the ADG.

ADG Issues Strict Directives

The high-level meeting, which lasted from 9 PM to 11 PM on Wednesday, was attended by Kolhan DIG Anuranjan Kispotta, newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ehtesham Waqarib, the new SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan, all DSPs, and Station House Officers (SHOs).

The new SSP, Ehtesham Waqarib—who assumed office on Thursday—was briefed on the city’s current situation and challenges. The ADG meticulously reviewed the entire sequence of events, from the initial dispute at DD Bar to the eventual murder.

He directed that arrest warrants be obtained from the court immediately to exert pressure on the accused. He emphasized that the investigation must be entirely scientific and evidence-based to ensure the criminals receive severe punishment in court.

Surprise Raids to Continue

The ADG stated unequivocally that special operations and continuous surprise raids must be conducted against criminals. He insisted that such incidents must not recur in the city and that the fear of the police must be clearly visible among criminals. In this context, the police have announced a reward of ₹2 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the prime absconding accused, Vishwanath Mandal (alias Bodra).

Three accused have already been arrested in the case, while six SITs are actively conducting raids to locate the remaining absconding killers. It is worth noting that following public outcry, the then SSP Piyush Pandey was removed from his post, and the administration has sealed DD Bar. Police on alert regarding Jamshedpur shutdown

In view of the Jamshedpur shutdown proposed by the BJP for Friday, the ADG conducted a detailed review of security arrangements. To maintain law and order, additional police forces have been deployed and patrolling intensified in several sensitive areas, including Mango and Adityapur.

Officials have been given clear instructions to deal strictly with miscreants who disrupt law and order and to ensure immediate, stern action in the event of any untoward situation.
