Jamshedpur, July 26: The Seraikela-Kharsawan police arrested six persons, including an Adityapur-based builder who had lodged an FIR alleging unidentified criminals to have fired on his car near Sudha Dairy in Adityapur on July 18. He has been arrested on Sunday with others for staging an attack.
The police revealed that the builder Sanjay Mohanty (45) planned to implicate a land owner and his sibling in a criminal case by staging the firing on his car by hired shooters and get a police body-guard on the plea of safety of his life.
The Seraikela-Kharsawan police revealed the truth behind the alleged firing incident by arresting six persons, including the builder Sanjay Mohanty on Sunday. Others who have been arrested were Shankar Kuanr, Santosh Chauhan, Ajay Kumar Mondal, Shankar Pal and Amit Pal, all residents of Adityapur.
The police also recovered a 7.65 mm pistol, ammunition, two vehicles, eight cell phones and Rs 15,170 cash from the accused.
Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police Mohammed Arshi said that having received an FIR from the builder that bike-borne criminals had opened shots at his car targeting to kill him in the July 18 night, a special investigation team was set up on the leadership of sub-divisional police officer, Seraikela Rakesh Ranjan.
During the interrogation of the shooter, he divulged the truth that it was a planned case of shooting and the builder had paid him money for launching a gun-shot attack on his car.
