Differently abled woman scripts start up success story in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 26: The story of city-born Rita Agarwal is full of grit, determination and courage. Like any other child Rita too had a normal childhood growing up in a close knit family with her parents and three siblings. However at the tender age of seven her life started to change when she found out that the bones in her body were getting brittle and weakened. She was diagnosed with a bone deforming disease called Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia, which made her differently-abled for the rest of her life inspite of all the medical treatment that her family provided her.

However, this didnt deter her spirit from continuing with her studies and getting a job in her hometown Jamshedpur in an organisation. Known for keeping a smile on her face as she struggled through the physical pain that she endured, today she is running a successful startup handmade chocolates.

Four years back, with her indomitable spirit Rita started her own company of handmade chocolates called Nanis to support her elderly parents and herself. Her unit under the brand of Nanis now supplies all over India through courier services and soon will be on Amazon.

Rita, along with her mother, make chocolate bars and blocks in 20 different flavours in very attractive packaging and at very reasonable prices that are very suitable as gifts for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, return gifts etc.  Nanis chocolates , they are really yummy and should be a hit amongst all chocolate lovers.  With Rakhi, round the corner she is busy making packs for orders she is receiving every day.

The response is overwhelming. My products are being appreciated all over. Whether it is a festival, birthday or family function our range of chocolates increase the delight of the event, said Rita with a smile.

Questioning her about the role women can play, she says: They are more grounded than men and have an extra capacity to give. They have so much emotional strength and can multi-task wonderfully well. Today, women are shining in every field and are rebelling the traditional mental conditioning of a gender bias. This is a great change to see.

Rita has been the shining star to make women realise that they could achieve their personal identities along with having a happy home and also gain higher respect.
