Orders to set markers in front of shops

Ghatshila, July 26: In view of the growing incidences of COVID-19 infections and casualties, SDO Amar Kumar, Ghatshila BDO Sanjay Kumar Das and CO Rinku Kumar conducted surprise inspection in Ghatshila and Galudih market places to ensure that people were wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and following other government protocols for prevention of COVID infection. They directed shopkeepers to make standing markers for customers in front of their shop counters so that social distancing was maintained and ordered shopkeepers to keep sanitizers in their shops and wear masks. They were directed not to provide services to customers not wearing masks.

During their rounds the officials issued notices to six shopkeepers who had flouted preventive directives and demanded replies within 72 hours of the notifications being served regarding why no action should be taken against them. The shopkeepers to whom notices had been served were Uday Agrawal (Spiced cold drink outlet), Anand Goyal and Manoj Kumar Agrawal (cloth sellers), Zahid Hussain (Janata Footwear), Dipak Shukla (Kalyani Bag Centre) and Gopal Agrawal (mobile and fan dealer) for not wearing masks and bending other preventive protocols.

The team of SDO, BDO and CO also went to the residences of people coming in from other states who had been quarantined in their homes for 14 days. They checked on Ravi Prasad, Tapan Murmu, Bhaskar Dey, Sarita Murmu and Rameshwar Dey to enquire if they were obeying the prescribed quarantine norms at their homes.
