Jamshedpur, Oct 12: The Wildlife Week Celebration 2025, jointly organized by Tata Steel Zoological Park and the Jamshedpur Forest Division, concluded on Sunday with a strong message of wildlife and nature conservation. The closing ceremony, held on the main lawn of Tata Steel Zoological Park, featured several engaging activities focused on promoting biodiversity protection and environmental awareness among the public.
One of the highlights of the event was the felicitation of winners of the wildlife photography competition held earlier at the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. The theme of the contest was “Wildlife and Nature Conservation.” Noted photojournalist Anup Mishra won first prize in the competition and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000, along with a certificate and a memento.
The awards were presented by Chief Guest Paritosh Upadhyay, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Jharkhand. Natesha, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Jharkhand, graced the occasion as the Special Guest.
In their addresses, both senior officials stressed the urgent need to preserve ecological balance and live in harmony with nature for sustainable development. They urged citizens, especially the youth, to take an active role in protecting wildlife and conserving the natural environment.

Also present on the occasion were DFO Saba Alam Ansari, Ranger Dinesh Chandra, Dr. Seema Rani (Biologist and Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park) and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato (Curator, Tata Steel Zoological Park). The event drew a large audience, including school students, environmentalists, nature lovers and local residents.
The week-long celebration highlighted the importance of wildlife conservation, habitat protection and community participation. As the event concluded, it left behind an inspiring message that protecting wildlife was not just the duty of forest officials, but a collective responsibility of society to ensure a greener, more sustainable future.
