Young Paddlers Shine in Inter-School Table Tennis Meet
Jamshedpur, May 6: The East Singhbhum District Inter-School Table Tennis Championship–2026 concluded on a high note at the JRD Sports Complex, with young players delivering impressive performances in the finals. The tournament, organised by the East Singhbhum District Table Tennis Association (ESDTTA), began on May 2 and ended with a grand closing ceremony.
In the Under-14 category, Smriti Sinha of SDSM School for Excellence won the Girls’ Singles title, while Vardhan Vashishth of Jamshedpur Public School secured the Boys’ Singles championship.

In the Under-17 category, Anshika Mahajan of Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya clinched the Girls’ Singles title, and Shaurya Kauntia of Carmel Junior College emerged as the Boys’ champion.
Anshika Mahajan continued her excellent form in the Under-19 category as well, winning the Girls’ Singles title. In the Boys’ Under-19 final, Saumil Mahto of Church School Beldih secured the top position.

In doubles events, the pair of Anjali Agarwal and Drishya Singh from JUSCO School, Kadma, won the Girls’ Doubles title. In Boys’ Doubles, Shiddat Raj and Sujan Atif of KPS Mango emerged victorious.
Several dignitaries attended the prize distribution ceremony and congratulated the winners. They praised the players’ sportsmanship and encouraged them to perform well at higher levels. Organisers thanked all participating schools and players for making the tournament a success.
