Poumit Chatterjee of Gulmohur School wins U-11 title at Inter-School Table Tennis tournament

Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya’s Ashwika claims Girls’ Crown at JRD TT Meet

Jamshedpur, May 6: Poumit Chatterjee of Gulmohur School emerged as the Under-11 boys’ champion at the Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event is being organised by the East Singhbhum District Table Tennis Association and witnessed exciting matches across categories.

In the boys’ Under-11 final, Poumit defeated Aryan Gandhi of Loyola School in straight sets (3-0) to clinch the title. Earlier, in the semifinals, Poumit beat Rudra Chatterjee 3-0, while Aryan overcame Vedansh Vashishth 3-0 to enter the final.

In the girls’ Under-11 singles final, Ashwika Singh of Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya defeated Lakshmi of Vivek Vidyalaya 3-0 to win the championship. Ashwika continued her strong performance throughout the tournament.

The girls’ Under-11 doubles final will see Jusco School’s pair Anjali Agarwal and Drishya Singh take on Anshika Mahajan and Ashwika Singh of Chinmaya Vidyalaya. In the semifinals, both teams secured comfortable 2-0 victories over their opponents.

In the boys’ doubles category, the Carmel School duo of Shaurya Kauntia and Jayaram will face Siddhant Raj and Sujan Atif of KPS Mango in the final. Both teams advanced after winning their semifinal matches in straight sets.

In another result, Ashwika Singh defeated Lakshmi 3-0 in the Under-14 girls’ quarterfinal to enter the semifinals.

The tournament continues to showcase young talent and competitive spirit among school players in the city.
