Panther House crowned overall champions at Loyola School Telco’s 9th Annual Sports Meet

Jamshedpur, Nov 24: Loyola School Telco organized its 9th Annual Sports Meet on 24th November 2025 with tremendous enthusiasm, showcasing energy, discipline, teamwork and sporting excellence. Students from Standards 1 to 10 participated in various athletic and cultural events that highlighted their dedication and sportsmanship.

Rector Fr. Michael Thanaraj, SJ, presided as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Fr. Vinod, Principal of Loyola School Bistupur, Principal Charanjeet Ohson, Administrator Fr. Gerry D’Souza, Fr. Pius Fernandes and Fr. Akhilesh Kumar.

The ceremony began with an impressive march-past, led by Commander-in-Chief Nishit Rai and Arpita Tiwary. They were followed by the Promising Sportspersons Flag Bearers, symbolizing determination and excellence. Captains and Vice-Captains of the four School Houses Jaguar, Panther, Leopard, and Cheetah marched with pride and unity.

A moment of significance followed as torchbearers Shambhavi Mishra, Srijan Sanyal, Shaan Murmu and Prateek Mahato lit the Sports Meet Flame, officially declaring the event open.

The atmosphere was elevated with a performance by the School Drum and Bugle Corps, led by Captain Lakshya Verma, setting an energetic tone for the day. Cultural and fitness displays added charm to the celebration.

Students of Standards 1 & 2 presented a vibrant drill commemorating the school’s 10 glorious years.

Standards 3 & 4 delivered dynamic karate demonstrations, showcasing strength and focus.

Standards 5 & 6 performed a yoga display, symbolizing balance, peace and well-being.

The meet also honored remarkable sports achievements across Inter-house events, indoor games, Best Athlete Awards and special category awards.

The House results included • Best Discipline Award – Leopard House • Best March-past Award – Panther House • Overall Champion House – Panther House and • Second Runner-up – Cheetah House.

The 9th Annual Sports Meet concluded on a triumphant note, celebrating not only athletic victories but also Loyola’s enduring values of unity, discipline, and excellence. Principal Charanjit Ohson expressed heartfelt appreciation to all students, coaches and staff for their dedication and affirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing even greater achievements in the years ahead.
