Ranchi: Government schools in Jharkhand are set to usher in significant changes in the education landscape, as new books for classes 1 to 8 will be introduced from the upcoming academic session of 2024-25.
These changes involve a comprehensive revision of the curriculum, with numerous fresh chapters being incorporated into the new books. In a bid to facilitate an enhanced understanding of subjects, the existing NCERT books in English (excluding the English language) will be translated into Hindi for the benefit of students.
Under the guidance of the Department of School Education and Literacy, the Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT) has initiated the process to bring these changes to fruition. This initiative encompasses both curriculum development and book translation.
JCERT is responsible for designing and producing books for classes 1 to 8, with 42 books being published every year. This time, substantial amendments will be made to these books. In addition to curriculum enhancements, JCERT will also focus on improving the quality of printing and paper in the books slated for release in the new academic session (2024-25).
