Ranchi gears up for Women’s Asia Hockey Championship; DC and SSP inspect preparations

Ranchi: In anticipation of the upcoming Women’s Asia Hockey Championship, District Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha and Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha recently conducted an inspection to assess the readiness of the event. During their visit, DC Sinha emphasized that the district administration has diligently prepared for the championship and will ensure strict law and order during the games. Security measures have been bolstered with the deployment of specialized personnel. The entire sports complex has been meticulously divided into 14 zones for efficient monitoring, with the presence of magistrates and police officials to oversee the arrangements.

To facilitate smooth entry into the stadium, different gates have been designated for specific groups:

Gate No. 1: Reserved for hockey players, technical officials of Hockey India, and broadcast personnel.

Gate No. 2: Exclusive entry for VVIPs and invitation card holders, with only VVIP vehicles allowed through this gate.

Gate No. 3: General spectators will enter through this gate, and car parking for these spectators will be provided between the football stadium and Morhabadi ground.

Gate No. 4: Also for general spectators, their car parking will be arranged at IIM Bhawan and Karamtoli Talab Akhara.

Once the stadium reaches its maximum capacity, entry through Gates No. 3 and 4 will be restricted. Interested spectators will then have the opportunity to watch the live telecast of the matches on LED screens at Morabadi Maidan and the Football Stadium. Adequate parking arrangements have been made at Morhabadi ground for those who choose this option.
Furthermore, preparations for security reasons have been organized, including instructions to the fire brigade, repairing the electricity system, and coordinating with the Municipal Corporation for ambulance services and cleanliness. The district’s police station in-charges, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been directed to maintain seamless coordination, ensuring the safety, law and order, and peace of the event. The Police Line Ranchi has also been instructed to assign the Quick Response Team (QRT) with essential protective equipment such as body protectors, helmets, and canes to secure the outer perimeter of the stadium.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his enthusiasm, noting that hosting the Women’s Asia Hockey Championship Trophy offers a unique opportunity to bolster the sport in the state. This historic event has attracted notable players to Jharkhand, and the best part is that entry to the championship is entirely free, fostering immense enthusiasm among players and fans alike.
