Noamundi: Noamundi College organised an inspiring programme on its campus to commemorate the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the renowned philosopher, thinker, and spiritual leader. The event was held in a disciplined and enthusiastic atmosphere, with active participation from students and faculty members.
The programme was presided over by Assistant Professor Parmanand Mahto and began with floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda’s portrait, as participants paid homage to his ideals and lasting contribution to the nation.
On the occasion, a message from the college principal, Manojit Vishwas, was read out by assistant teacher Sabid Hussain. In his message, the principal highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of life, his emphasis on self-confidence and character building, and the crucial role of youth in the process of nation-building.
In his presidential address, Parmanand Mahto said that Swami Vivekananda’s teachings remain highly relevant in contemporary times, guiding young people towards self-belief, moral values, and social responsibility. He encouraged students to incorporate these ideals into their personal and professional lives.
As part of the programme, a speech competition was organised in which students spoke on Swami Vivekananda’s life, educational philosophy, and his messages for the youth. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students delivering thoughtful and inspiring presentations.
Faculty members Mukesh Kumar Singh, Bhawani Kumari, and Pratibha also shared their views, urging students to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and apply them in their daily lives.
The event was coordinated by Dr Mukesh Kumar Singh as the stage coordinator. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sabid Hussain, who acknowledged the efforts of all faculty members, students, and volunteers involved in organising the event.
Several teachers, staff members, and a large number of student volunteers were present, making the celebration a meaningful tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s enduring legacy.
