Jamshedpur: The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, is hosting the International Conference on Recent Advances in Materials Processing and Characterization (RAMPC-2025) from March 21 to 23, 2025. The three-day event brings together leading experts from industry and academia to discuss innovations in materials processing and characterization, featuring 52 technical research papers on emerging trends, sustainable solutions and industrial applications.
The inauguration session welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhary (Director, CSIR-NML Jamshedpur), Ajitesh Monga (Plant Manager & Director, Tata Cummins Pvt. Ltd.), Prof. Gautam Sutradhar (Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Prof. Chittaranjan Sahay (University of Hartford, USA) and Prof. Ram Vinoy Sharma (Deputy Director, NIT Jamshedpur). Prof. Ashok Kumar, Chairman, RAMPC-25, extended a warm welcome, while Dr. Ram Krishna, Convenor, RAMPC-25, provided insights into the conference objectives.
Speakers highlighted the role of materials science in shaping the future, with discussions on sustainable development, lean-grade ore utilization, dry beneficiation and water resource management. Monga emphasized the connection between metallurgy and spirituality, while Prof. Sharma linked ancient metallurgy with modern advancements. The conference aims to strengthen industry-academic collaboration, fostering innovation and research to drive industrial growth in materials science and engineering.
