Seraikela, Oct 22 : Seraikela Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh issued strict directives to health officials during a high-level review meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium on Thursday.
Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all Block Medical Officers to overhaul their operational approach and maintain complete accountability for their designated duties.
Warning of stern administrative action against non-compliance, he announced that salaries would be deducted for any doctors or healthcare personnel remaining absent without valid authorization.
Additionally, he ordered an immediate halt to salary disbursements for medical officers who have recorded zero logins for digital tele-consultation services.
During the comprehensive review, the Deputy Commissioner evaluated the overall functioning of health centers, staff attendance, stock levels of essential medicines and diagnostic kits, and the progress of key public health schemes.
To ensure transparency, he directed officials to update all inventory records by cross-verifying physical stock with official registers.
The Civil Surgeon, Hospital Deputy Superintendent, and other concerned authorities have been tasked with overseeing this stock verification, with all health centers mandated to submit a joint signed certificate within fifteen days.
While reviewing digital health outreach, the Deputy Commissioner commended Community Health Officers for their commendable work but admonished doctors showing slow progress, reiterating that active tele-consultations are crucial for providing expert medical guidance to remote and rural populations.
Turning attention to disease control, special directives were issued to conduct intensive, family-based screening drives in villages and hamlets affected by tuberculosis, malaria, and filariasis.
He emphasized screening entire households to ensure early detection and timely medical intervention, alongside launching local-language awareness campaigns explaining disease symptoms, transmission, and prevention.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner called for robust public outreach regarding routine childhood vaccinations, breastfeeding practices, and proper nutrition.
