Jamshedpur: The Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) has issued a final warning to residents, urging them to clear their holding tax dues for the financial year 2024-2025 by March 31, 2025. Failure to comply will result in strict penalties under Sections 182 and 184 of the Jharkhand Municipality Act, 2011, which may include the freezing of bank accounts.
According to the penalty structure, a 1% fine will be imposed for payments delayed by one week, increasing to 2% for two weeks, 3% for one month and 5% for two months. Beyond this period, an additional 2% fine per month will be charged. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner has emphasized the importance of timely tax payments, warning that strict action will be taken against those who fail to meet the deadline.
To avoid unnecessary penalties, MMC has advised citizens to verify their outstanding dues and make payments at the designated offices before the due date. Residents are encouraged to act promptly and fulfil their civic responsibilities, ensuring compliance with the municipality’s regulations and avoiding legal consequences.
