Jamshedpur, Oct 13: The Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, concluded the IEEE 2nd International Conference on Green Industrial Electronics and Sustainable Technologies (GIEST-2025). The three-day global conference, held from October 11 to 13, 2025, brought together eminent researchers, academicians and industry experts to deliberate on innovations and challenges in sustainable technologies, renewable energy and industrial electronics.
Organized in collaboration with various IEEE Sections, the conference aimed to promote research and knowledge exchange in areas such as power electronics, smart grids, electric vehicles and sustainable transportation systems.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests. Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Prof. (Dr.) P. B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Gurugram; Dr. Ankush Mittal, Vice Chancellor of COER University, Roorkee and Shri Alok Kumar Tripathi, Chief General Manager, NTPC and Whole-Time Director, NGCL. The conference was presided by Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, with Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Singh, HoD (Electrical Engineering), serving as the General Chair.
Conference Chair Dr. Kundan Kumar, Assistant Professor, welcomed the guests and delegates, highlighting that over 1,200 research papers were received from India and abroad, including submissions from the USA, Canada and UAE. After rigorous peer review, around 400 high-quality papers were selected for presentation. The program featured six keynote lectures, six tutorial sessions and 44 parallel technical sessions, along with special tracks for IEEE Student Young Professionals (SYP) and Women in Engineering (WIE).
The sessions explored emerging topics like AI-driven green technologies, sustainable manufacturing, circular economy models and energy-efficient systems, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Organizing Secretary Dr. Ravi Bhushan expressed gratitude to the Director, faculty, IEEE partners, sponsors and volunteers for their contributions to the event’s success.
The conference concluded on a high note, celebrating global collaboration and reinforcing NIT Jamshedpur’s commitment to advancing research and innovation for a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
