Two naxals killed, one surrenders in Bokaro operation

Bokaro , Oct 13: In a significant anti-naxal operation, two hardcore insurgents were killed and another surrendered during a joint search operation conducted by CoBRA 209 (CRPF) and Bokaro District Police in the dense Birhor Dera forest along the Bokaro–Hazaribagh border.

Authorities also recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the area.

Police sources stated that the operation was launched following precise intelligence inputs about Naxal movements in the forest.

During the encounter, two insurgents were neutralized, while several others, including Parvez Da, Chanchal Da, Vishan Da, Raju, and Bhola Koda, managed to evade capture.

Before fleeing, Phulchand Manjhi alias Raju and Bhola Koda alias Rohit Koda (also known as Vikash Da) reportedly buried their SLR rifles and ammunition beneath the soil near a bamboo grove close to Murpa village.

Surrender of Bhola Koda

Following the clash, Bhola Koda returned to his home in Abhaypur, Munger district, traveling via Giridih by train. Under increasing police pressure, he eventually surrendered to authorities in Munger and was handed over to Hazaribagh police for interrogation.

During questioning, Koda disclosed the location of the hidden weapons, prompting a subsequent search operation under the Police Headquarters’ OPS PLAN.

Arms and Ammunition Recovered

The search team successfully recovered:

* Two SLR rifles

* One SLR LMG empty magazine

* Five SLR empty magazines

* 233 SLR bullets

” Two camouflage magazine pouches

* Three full-throughs and other daily-use items

The operation was supervised by the Inspector General of Police, Coal Region, Bokaro, and involved coordination between CRPF 154 Battalion and Jharkhand Jaguar 16 AG personnel.

Bhola Koda (21), who also goes by Rohit Koda or Vikash Da, has multiple criminal cases registered against him across six police stations under various IPC sections.

The operation saw active participation from senior officers, including Pawan Kumar, SDPO Barkagaon, SI Jitendra Kumar, Gomia Zone,

Abhinav Anand, Second-in-Command, CRPF 154 Battalion,

ASI Deepak Kumar Rana, OC Chatrochatti PS, ASI Janu Kumar, OC Ango PS and ASI Krishan Kumar Gupta, OC Barkagaon PS.

This decisive action underscores the relentless efforts of Jharkhand police and central forces to curb naxal activities in the region.
