National Lok Adalat disposes 375 pending cases, 3000 pre-litigation cases

Jamshedpur, March 12: National Lok Adalat was organized at Civil Court premises in Seraikela here on Saturday under the guidance of National Legal Services Authority and Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority. A large number of people visited the court premises to benefit from the opportunity for settlement of cases. A total of 375 cases were disposed today. A whopping 3000 pre-litigation cases were also disposed, sources said.

Sources in the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Seraikela-Kharsawan, informed that revenue of Rs 1.05 crore was collected at the Lok Adalat. Cases of different nature were disposed on this occasion.

Today’s Lok Adalat was jointly inaugurated by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Vijay Kumar, Principal Judge of Family Court Raj Kamal Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Arva Rajkamal and Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash. Many senior judiciary and administration officials were present during the inaugural session.

In his address, the DC and SP appealed to the people to avail the benefits of Lok Adalat. They said the National Lok Adalat would now be held four times in a year to ensure that maximum pending cases were disposed expeditiously.

DLSA Secretary Kumar Kranti Prasad said efforts were meant to speed up disposal of maximum number of cases.
