Collective effort needed to save environment: Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur, March 12: A seminar on ‘Paryavaran Ki Raksha’ (Saving the Environment) was organized in New Delhi under the aegis of Rotary District Club. Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy attended the event along with noted social activist and thinker KN Govindacharya and boxer Vijendra Singh.

In his address, Roy said it was important to reduce air pollution. He said the citizens were worried about environment. He said the developed countries had harmed environment to a great extent. Environmental problems are not the result of failure, but are rather the result of success, he said.

Roy said there was need to remove economic inequality and reduce dependence on natural resources. A collective endeavour to save the environment should be made by organizations across the globe, he said.

Many dignitaries were present during the programme.
