Jamshedpur, Sept 14: Technothlon , an inter school event was organized by the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati from 3rd to 7th September 2015 based on the results of the prelims, top 50 teams were invited to attend the main event at IIT Guwahati. The Competition saw participation of around 80,000 students from India and abroad.
Shantanu Kumar and Kumar Tanay of Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) qualified as one of the top 50 team and were the only team from Jharkhand to qualify for the mains and secured the all India 5th rank.
Technothlon is an international school championship organized by the student fraternity of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.
At IIT Guwahati, apart from competition various event like lecture series, industrial conclave and workshops on various topics were organized. The industrial conclave and lecture series witnessed the presence of many eminent personalities from India and abroad. Students were familiarized with new technologies through exhibitions and demonstrations which included one by the Indian army as well.
The main purpose of the event was to inspire young minds students were given an opportunity to explore the beautiful campus of IIT Guwahati and interact with the IITians.
During the competition students were taught new skills from encryption and decryption of messages to making remote controlled cars.
