Chandil, April 12: The Baha Mahotsav was celebrated with grandeur on Thursday at Dishom Jahergarh near Chandil Roundabout, drawing a large crowd. Naike Baba led the ritual, adorning men’s ears and women’s foreheads with Sakhua flowers, invoking prayers for peace and prosperity in the area. Devotees reverently partook of Khhichdi as Prasad after bowing at Jahergarh.
Devotees wore traditional dresses. They danced to the musical beats of several traditional percussion instruments. Traditionally attired Sneha Mahato, daughter of MLA Savita Mahato, enthralled participants with her energetic dance in traditional tribal attire, especially to the rhythm of Mandar.
Sneha also participated in the Sarhul festivities at Khudiyadih and Gangudih.
