Jharkhand CM reviews plan for Guru Shibu Soren residential school in Ranchi

 

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a high-level meeting with officials at the state secretariat to review progress of Guru Shibu Soren residential school campus to be developed at the Jaguar campus on Ring Road in Ranchi. During the meeting, officials presented a detailed plan through a presentation outlining design, facilities, construction roadmap and future implementation strategy.

Officials informed that the Detailed Project Report has already been prepared, while land identification is currently underway. The Chief Minister directed authorities to expedite land allocation and ensure that construction begins at the earliest so that the institution can be made operational on time.

The proposed residential school will offer education from Class 1 to 12, with priority admission for children of police personnel martyred in the line of duty, as well as those serving in the Army and Central Armed Police Forces. Emphasizing quality education as a key priority, Soren stressed development of modern infrastructure and advanced learning resources. Plans include smart classrooms, library, ICT labs, playgrounds and comprehensive sports facilities, along with residential arrangements for students from Class 6 onwards, including separate hostels for boys and girls.

He instructed officials to ensure that standards match those of model schools and that all facilities are modern, efficient and student-friendly. Focus should remain on delivering high-quality education along with a well-equipped campus environment.

Discussion also covered a proposed hospital at JAP-10 Hotwar in Ranchi for families of police personnel. The facility will operate under a public-private partnership model, initially with 50 beds and provision for expansion up to 100 beds based on demand. The Chief Minister emphasized availability of modern medical services and specialist doctors to ensure effective healthcare access for beneficiaries.

Senior officials including Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and representatives from home, health and education departments attended the meeting.

CM reviews NGO-run welfare schemes, orders stronger digital monitoring and job focus

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed welfare schemes being implemented through non-governmental organisations under the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department and the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare Department at Jharkhand Secretariat.

During the review, the Chief Minister took detailed updates from officials on implementation, activities and progress of various NGO-run programmes. He directed the creation of a comprehensive digital database covering all such schemes and stressed continuous monitoring of implementing organisations to ensure accountability and transparency.

Soren reviewed key initiatives including Mission Shakti, child care institutions under Mission Vatsalya and old age homes. He instructed officials to prepare a separate database of working women in the state at the earliest and submit it to the department. He said the Sakhni Niwas initiative should be strengthened to provide safe and convenient residential facilities for working women along with daycare support.

The Chief Minister also reviewed Shakti Sadan schemes and directed inclusion of self-help group-based institutions in their implementation framework. He called for improved participation of community-based organisations in social welfare delivery.

Under Mission Vatsalya, he reviewed the functioning of self-supported child care homes and old age homes and issued necessary instructions for improvement in service delivery.

Soren also reviewed education and welfare schemes under the tribal and social welfare department, including Eklavya model residential schools, ashram schools, primary residential schools for tribal and scheduled caste communities, PVTG schools, welfare hospitals, hostels and nutrition programmes. He stressed promotion of digital and online education systems and asked officials to strengthen infrastructure for the same.

He further directed expansion of nursing education facilities, noting strong employment potential in the healthcare sector, and asked departments to prioritise skill-based and job-oriented schemes for youth employment within the state.

The Chief Minister said district-level committees should oversee implementation of hostel nutrition programmes and emphasised formation of dedicated societies to improve execution of welfare schemes. He also discussed upgrading ashram schools on the lines of Eklavya model institutions.

Soren underlined that education, housing and healthcare remain top priorities for the government and called for improved quality, safety and infrastructure in residential schools and hostels. He stressed regular monitoring of all schemes to ensure benefits reach the last beneficiary with transparency and accountability.

Senior officials including Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, senior bureaucrats from home, health, finance and welfare departments, and other officers were present in the meeting.

CM reviews Ranchi flyover projects, directs faster land acquisition, traffic reforms

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a review meeting at Jharkhand Secretariat with officials from the Road Construction Department regarding key infrastructure projects in the state capital, including the connecting flyover between Siramtoli and Kantatoli. Officials presented a detailed PowerPoint update on project progress.

The Chief Minister conducted a point-by-point review and directed authorities to expedite land acquisition processes to ensure faster execution of construction work. He stressed that procedural delays should not slow down development timelines.

Discussions were also held on a proposed flyover connecting Karamtoli with Science City in Chiroundi. The Chief Minister issued several important instructions to improve planning and ensure timely implementation of the project.

He also reviewed traffic conditions in Ranchi and instructed officials to close unnecessary cuts in road dividers across the city to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. He stated that improving urban mobility and traffic management remains a top priority for the government.

Senior officials including Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief Praveen Jayant Bhangra, Chief Engineer Vijay Ranjan and Deputy Secretary Vikram Pratap Singh were present at the meeting.
