Mass yoga session by Jamshedpur BJP workers on Yoga Day

Jamshedpur, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, BJP workers from all four Vidhan Sabhas of Jamshedpur metropolis came together to perform mass yoga exercises. In commemoration of the completion of nine years of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP organized a series of events as part of a major public relations campaign. The celebrations included assembly-level events in the eastern and western parts of Jamshedpur metropolis, as well as Mandal-level celebrations in Potka and Jugsalai mandals.

The Eastern Vidhan Sabha BJP workers gathered at Gudiya Maidan in Birsa Nagar Zone No. 1 to participate in the yoga exercise program organized on the 9th International Yoga Day. Prominent figures in attendance included BJP’s National Vice President and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, and BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Gunjan Yadav.

Thousands of BJP workers and members of the public joined former Chief Minister Raghubar Das in practicing yoga during the event. Prior to the yoga session, Raghubar Das presented a bouquet and a garment to Sudha Jha, a yoga instructor from Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti, as a gesture of welcome.

Addressing the gathering, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed his wishes for everyone’s good health and highlighted the invaluable gift that yoga is to India’s ancient tradition. He emphasized that yoga not only connects the heart and mind but also fosters connections between countries. Regular practice of yoga promotes physical health, mental alertness, stress reduction, and a disease-free life with inner peace.

Raghubar Das mentioned that on December 11, 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the ‘International Day of Yoga’ after India presented a resolution. He underscored that yoga has gained recognition globally thanks to PM Modi’s efforts. He further highlighted the historic and unprecedented participation of over 180 countries in the Yoga Day program, demonstrating India’s path towards becoming a world leader once again.

Das emphasized the significance of yoga in the modern era, stating that it is the most effective means of achieving mental peace and balance amidst the stresses of life. He urged people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and join the campaign for a healthy India.

Gunjan Yadav, the BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President, emphasized the importance of yoga in everyone’s life, as it brings peace to the mind and revitalizes the body. He encouraged individuals to make yoga an integral part of their lives, highlighting its role in enhancing personality, maintaining good health, and providing physical strength. Yadav attributed the global recognition and significance of yoga to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Yoga instructor Sudha Jha, accompanied by colleagues Gauri Kar and Vineeta Sinha, demonstrated various yoga postures and exercises, urging participants to practice them regularly at home. Jha emphasized the health benefits of yoga, highlighting the positive impact of practices such as Anulom-Vilom and Kapalbhati in treating various ailments and diseases.

The stage was managed by District General Secretary Rakesh Singh, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Birsanagar Mandal President Bablu Gope, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers of the event.
