Martyr status sought for Bhagat Singh, AISSF to launch campaign

Jamshedpur, Sep 28: The All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has demanded martyr status for Bhagat Singh. Led by its National General Secretary Satnam Singh Gambhir, the members paid floral tribute on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He said that AISSF will launch a campaign in favor of their demands.

Gambhir said the Centre must declare Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev as martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the country. MPs and legislators received various benefits from the government while families of freedom fighters had not been given any support. The All India Sikh Students Federation demands that the country must grant him the status of martyr.

He said that every effort will be made to get Bhagat Singh his right. Gambhir further said that he would demand from the government through proper means that 23 March be declared a national holiday and special programs should be organised on that day. Bhagat Singh is the hero of every youth today. He sacrificed his life at such a young age to liberate the country.

On the occasion, Amarjit Singh, Manjit Singh Gill, Sarabjit Singh and Manmeet Luthra were present.
