Chaibasa, July 27: Under the guidance of Principal Shilpa Gupta and with the support of Gayatri Vidya Shishu Mandir Chakradharpur and Chandari and Bagaria Foundation, around 1,400 fruit-bearing plants were distributed among all students at the Mangilal Rungta Ten Plus Two School. This initiative was part of their continuing ‘Eco-Forest Plantation’ program for promoting mass tree plantation.
“The primary objective of this program is to sensitize each and every student to environmental conservation, ensuring the protection of our surroundings, and maintaining a sustainable lifestyle. The growing population, ozone depletion, global warming, deforestation, and pollution pose serious threats to human life,” informed one of the school officials.
Through this initiative, the school aims to create awareness and instil a sense of responsibility among its students to protect the environment.
It may be mentioned that Principal Shilpa Gupta initiated this project at a personal level in 2016, and today, it has grown into a comprehensive program involving every student. The contributions of Anuj Kumar Chakraborty Bakshi, Ananjay Prasad, all teachers, Bal Sansad members and students have been commendable in making this program a success. “The initiative of the Mangilal Rungta Ten Plus Two School to engage students in the plantation of fruit-bearing trees is a noteworthy step towards a greener and sustainable future,” observed a local eco-enthusiast.
