JNACs new parking rules take effect in steel city from today

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee is all set to bring into effect new parking rules in the city from 1st August onwards. The parking rules are to be implemented initially on an experimental basis, said the JNAC authorities.
Addressing a meeting of the parking committee held on Tuesday, Special Officer Sanjay Kumar said the purpose of the new parking rules is to improve the traffic scenario in the city.

Kumar said amendments would be made in the parking rules in case negative feedbacks are received from the citizens regarding any parking lot.

Also present on the occasion, Pawan Agrawal, representative of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, said the CM was concerned about the traffic woes of the people of Jamshedpur. He said the JNAC had taken a praiseworthy measure by planning new parking rules for the city.

DSP Traffic Vivekanand Thakur said the traffic police will confiscate vehicles parked in no parking zones with the help of JNAC. Tata Steel representative Rajeev Kumar said the parking lot developed near Jubilee Park may be provided free of cost to the citizens subject to the approval of higher company officials.

The JNAC Special Officer asked the nodal traffic officer and City Manager of JNAC Ranjan Pandey to get traffic information boards installed all over the city within a week.

Among others present at the meeting included assistant engineer Mahendra Ram and Abhay Narayan.
