Jamshedpur, September 7: In observance of Clean Air Day- 2024, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) organized a tree plantation drive at Domuhani Park, Kailash Sarovar in Sonari. The event, organized by Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, saw the planting of 200 saplings. City Managers, engineers, City Mission Managers, Swachh Brand Ambassadors, and various NGOs including Swachhta Pukare, Nishchay Foundation, Hauslon Ki Udaan, along with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, office supervisors, workers, and local community members participated in the drive.
The initiative aimed to reduce air pollution and raise awareness on environmental conservation. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar emphasized the critical role of tree planting in creating a cleaner, healthier environment and urged collective action to make the planet greener. Participants received information on the importance of environmental conservation and pledged to maintain a clean environment.
JNAC sought to engage the community and inspire action toward environmental protection through this tree plantation campaign. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner also committed to planting and protecting 5,000 multipurpose trees across the area, appealing to the public to join in these efforts.
