Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya Jamshedpur win inter school U-17 football tourney at Loyola School

Jamshedpur, September 7: Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya won the Inter School Football Tournament (Under-17 Boys) by defeating RKMS Bistupur 2-0 in the final. This tournament was held over two days at Loyola School Telco.

There were a total of 8 teams in the quarter finals. Four teams comprising Loyola Bistupur, RKMS Bistupur, Vidya Bharati Chinmaya School and Xavier School made it to the semi-finals. RKMS Bistupur and Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya performed brilliantly and claimed their places in the final. The final saw a pulsating battle that ultimately ended with Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya clinching the issue with a 2-0 score line.

Principal Charanjit Ohson and the School administrator Fr. Gerry honoured the Chief Guest Nemdhari Rajak, Officer In-charge of Birsanagar Police Station by presenting him a sapling and Shawl.  Speaking to the players and spectators, the OC shared his experiences on the importance of Guru, parents and disciples and called upon the young players to honour them and grow in the spirit of perseverance, commitment and become good students, good players and bring honour to the country. He appreciated the budding student players and wished for their bright future.

In the closing ceremony medals, trophies and certificates were presented to winner Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya by the special guest, while runner-up RKMS Bistupur also received medals, trophies and certificates. Best player award was given to Rahul Biruli (jersey no. 03) of Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya and best goalkeeper award was given to Sumit Gope (jersey no. 1) of RKMS.

Fr. Gerry, the Administrator, Loyola School Telco presented mementoes to the members of Jamshedpur Football Club for their contribution. The function ended with a vote of thanks offered by the Principal followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
