Ranchi: The Union AYUSH Ministry has approved seven new integrated AYUSH hospitals in Jharkhand under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM). These hospitals will be established in Ranchi, Gumla, Bokaro, Deoghar, Palamu, Dumka and East Singhbhum, according to Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav.
The announcement came in response to a query from outgoing Jharkhand BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash, who sought information on the opening of Ayurvedic hospitals in the state. Jadhav clarified that public health is primarily a state subject, but financial assistance is available under NAM for setting up AYUSH hospitals with 50, 30, or 10 beds.
“The state government can submit suitable proposals through the State Annual Action Plans (SAAP) to avail financial aid as per NAM guidelines,” Jadhav said.
Preparations for the implementation of these hospitals have already begun at the government level. Officials emphasize that these new facilities will enhance access to alternative medicine and strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Jharkhand.
