Jharkhand Govt schools performance to be monitored in monthly report card

Ranchi, August 11: Jharkhand’s school education and literacy department has started another big transformative initiative for improving academic standards in the state-owned schools.

The department has decided to issue the report card of schools.

The final draft of the report card for schools is ready by the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC).

Under Project Impact, now all the schools of the state will self-evaluate and fill their report card. On the lines of the report card of children in schools, now the report card of the school will also be made.

Every school will have to evaluate itself in 2000 marks on the basis of various parameters.

In the first phase, the score card of all 80 Chief Minister Utkrishta Vidyalayas and 325 block level Adarsh Vidyalayas (model schools) will be issued.

There is a plan to issue the score card of these schools in the last week of August. For this, the necessary process has been completed by the department. Nodal officers have also been appointed by forming clusters for all the schools. These officials have to do ground monitoring of the score card and evaluation of the respective schools.

The officials will check in the school whether the evaluation done by the school is accurate or there are some errors in it. After the school score card and monitoring of the school, there will be a third party assessment, in which the marks given by the school will be checked. This process will be repeated every month.

Score card of schools will be issued every month from August, 2024. This will not only help schools assess their performance, but will also give them an opportunity to improve the quality of education. The score card of schools will be public, this will give parents and the community clear information about the performance of schools. The score card will increase healthy and transparent competition among schools, which will motivate them to perform better. The responsibility of teachers and administrative staff will increase to get more marks in the score card, so that they will take their work more seriously.

Project Impact program is being run to bring unprecedented change in the educational quality of government schools. Under this program, the educational performance of all schools is being continuously monitored. School score card is going to prove to be a transformative initiative in this direction. Government schools have been divided into three categories on the basis of the school score card of 2000 marks, schools will be certified in these three categories. Schools will get Gold, Bronze, Silver certificates. The best performing government schools will get Gold certificate, followed by Bronze and Silver certificates. Schools securing 1800 or more marks in the school score card will get a gold certificate.
