Jharkhand Cop posted in anti-naxal ops dies 

Palamu, February 14: Havildar Chotan Ram of JAP-8 posted in anti-Naxal operation has died. He was a resident of Garhwa district and was posted at Dagra picket in Naudiha Bazar police station area of Palamu district.

His health suddenly deteriorated on Thursday night, after which he was taken to Chhatarpur sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, police officers reached the spot. The body has been sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The entire process will be videographed. After the post-mortem, Havildar Chotan Ram will be saluted at the JAP-8 headquarters in Leslieganj.

Chhotan Ram was posted at Dagra picket for the last six months. This area is adjacent to the border of Gaya district of Bihar, from where anti-Naxal operations are conducted. On Thursday night, after complaining of uneasiness and ill health, the police patrolling team reached the spot and took him to the hospital, but he died during treatment.

SDPO of Chhatarpur, Avadh Kumar Yadav said that Havildar Chotan Ram was brought to the hospital after his health deteriorated, but doctors declared him dead. The family members have been informed about the incident and they have left for the spot.
