Ranchi, February 14: President Draupadi Murmu reached Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Friday for a two-day official visit.
She was welcomed by Governor Santosh Gangwar, state agriculture minister and Congress leader Shipi Neha Tirkey a at Ranchi airport after her flight landed at 4.50 pm on Friday.
Senior bureaucrats including DGP and other police officials were present at the airport.
From Birsa Munda Airport, she went straight to the Raj Bhavan. During this, there were tight security arrangements. Vigilance has been increased in the Raj Bhavan and its surrounding areas.

President will attend the foundation day program of BIT Mesra on Saturday.
President Draupadi Murmu will be the chief guest of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Birla Institute of Technology Mesra.
She will also inaugurate the research exhibition cum display organized in the auditorium of the institute.
After attending the program, she will leave directly for Delhi from Birsa Munda Airport.
Barricading has been done at various places in the capital for the arrival of the President. Drop gates have been made at many places. At present, top officials along with state jawans are present at every road intersection of the capital.
Security is especially strict in Raj Bhavan and its surrounding areas. The responsibility of their security is in the hands of 10 IPS officers. A total of 2500 police personnel have been deployed. Changes have been made in the traffic system for 14 and 15 October. Entry of big vehicles in the city is prohibited from 8 pm on Friday night.
