Jharkhand CM hands appointment letters to 262 health recruits

Ranchi, June 24: Reinforcing the Jharkhand government’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare and improving service delivery, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 262 newly selected candidates at a programme held at the Jharkhand secretariat.
The appointments include 56 Food Safety Officers selected through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, 151 contractual Specialist Medical Officers under the National Health Mission, 29 Senior Hospital Managers and 26 Finance Managers.
The Chief Minister formally handed over appointment letters and congratulated the recruits on joining public service.
Addressing the gathering, Soren said the state government is continuously working to bring every citizen into the mainstream of development and that adequate human resources are essential for accelerating growth across sectors.
He noted that the government has been undertaking large-scale recruitment drives to strengthen governance and public service delivery.
Emphasising the importance of healthcare, the Chief Minister said the government remains firmly committed to building a robust health system and would continue making large-scale appointments in the sector.
He observed that a strong healthcare framework forms the foundation of a developed state and reiterated that improving the quality, accessibility and efficiency of medical services remains a top priority.
Soren urged the newly appointed officials to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, dedication and sensitivity, ensuring that citizens receive timely and quality services.
He assured them of the government’s full support in carrying out their duties effectively.
Highlighting the challenges faced by the healthcare sector, the Chief Minister said both rural and urban areas continue to grapple with issues such as resource availability, specialist manpower, timely treatment and infrastructure development.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic as a significant example, he said the crisis underscored the importance of innovation, swift decision-making and effective coordination within the health system.
He stressed that modern healthcare requires efficiency, preparedness and the adoption of advanced technologies to meet emerging challenges.
The government, he said, is focused on creating a responsive and resilient healthcare network capable of delivering quality treatment and ensuring rapid medical assistance during emergencies.
Among those present at the programme were Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Neha Arora, National Health Mission Campaign Director Shashi Prakash Jha, senior government officials and hundreds of newly appointed candidates.
