Ranchi, March 29: Former treasury officer of Doranda Treasury, Pawan Kumar Kedia, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the special vigilance court on charges of corruption.
A fine of Rs 30,000 has also been imposed. If Pawan Kumar Kedia does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional six months of imprisonment.
Pawan Kumar Kedia was accused of demanding Rs 30,000 in exchange for passing a bill in Doranda Treasury. The vigilance team verified and arrested Pawan Kumar Kedia on 29 May 2013. During the hearing of the case, Vigilance presented 9 witnesses.
