Jamshedpur, April 25: In a concerted move to highlight the persistent issue of delayed passenger trains, the Rail Yatri Sangharsh Samiti will launch a signature campaign on Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
The railway administration has designated a spot near the station’s main entrance—approximately 50 steps before the locomotive display on the right—for the campaign.
Notably, the same place had hosted a protest on April 7 led by Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy, who is also expected to join Sunday’s initiative.
He has already sought cooperation from the railway authorities through a tweet.
According to Samiti convenor Shiv Shankar Singh, along with Subodh Srivastava, district president of Janata Dal (United), East Singhbhum, and city president Ajay Kumar, volunteers will begin gathering passenger feedback from 9:30 a.m. onwards. Commuters arriving at Tatanagar from various locations will be asked to share details about their journeys, including stoppages, delays, and possible reasons behind them. These responses will be recorded on a whiteboard through signatures. In addition, passengers will receive leaflets containing the same set of questions, along with a QR code that allows them to digitally participate in the campaign.
The organisers said the primary objective is to systematically document passenger grievances and bring them to the attention of senior railway officials. Expressing optimism, they said they expect full cooperation from the railway administration.
To ensure wider outreach, around 10 teams—each comprising 15 members—will be deployed across all entry and exit points of the station to interact with passengers and distribute informational leaflets.
