Jamshedpur, May 8: In a move aimed at improving the convenience of local people, the South Eastern Railway has announced the stoppage of an express train at Sini railway station. Jan-Shatabdi Express train (Howrah-Barbil via Tatanagar), which will now make a scheduled stop at Sini station, providing a vital link for people in the area.
The decision to include Sini railway station on the route of the train was made after several requests from local communities and authorities. The new stoppage is expected to be of great benefit to the people of Sini and surrounding areas, providing greater connectivity to nearby cities and towns.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda with the officials of the South Eastern Railway flagged-off the new halt of Jan-Shatabdi Express train (Howrah-Barbil via Tatanagar) for the convenience of local people at Sini railway station under Saraikela-Kharsawan district on Monday.
After South Eastern Railway (SER) notified stoppage of several trains on an experimental basis for a period of six months at Sini and Rajkharsawan stations, Munda flagged off the train.
Munda with his wife Meera Munda, Railway officials and a large number of BJP workers were also present.
On this occasion, Munda said that from Barbil to Howrah is an area full of mineral wealth. People get a big benefit due to the stoppage of this train. Munda said that the Railways should operate more and more trains on all routes and also increase the facilities for the passengers, so that the people can be benefitted.
The people of Kharsawan assembly constituency had been demanding stoppage of these trains for a long time at Sini railway station. Munda had met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding this demand. The stoppage of the train at the station will be of two minutes.
As per SER communique, stoppage at Sini station: 12021 Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express, journey commencing w.e.f. May 8 arrival at Sini station at 10.17 am and departure at 10.19 am. 12022 Barbil-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, journey commencing w.e.f. May 8 will arrive at Sini station at 4.10 pm and will depart at 4.12 pm. Stoppage at Rajkharsawan station 13287 Durg-Rajendra Nagar Express, journey commencing w.e.f May 8 will arrive at Rajkharsawan station at 5.13 pm and will depart at 5.15 pm.
13288 Rajendra Nagar-Durg Express, journey commencing w.e.f May 8 will arrive at Rajkharsawan station at 8.41 am and will depart at 8.43 am. 18190 Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express, journey commencing w.e.f May 8 will arrive Rajkharsawan station at 3.13 am and will depart at 3.15 am
18189 Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express, journey commencing w.e.f May 11 will arrive at Rajkharsawan station at 5.54 am and will depart at 5.56 am.
