SCCI demands plying of Tata-Chhapra and Jallianwala Bagh Express daily

Jamshedpur: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) urged General Manager, South-Eastern Railway, Archana Joshi that train number 18181-82 (Tata-Chhapra Express) and train number 18103-04 (Jallianwala Bagh Express) should be plied on all days. The SCCI member also requested that the train number 18029-30 (Howrah-Kurla Express) and train number 18615-16 (Kriya Yog Express) to start stopping at Chakulia station again. This information was jointly given by President Vijay Anand Moonka and Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia. The chairman informed that train number 18181-82 (Tata-Chhapra Express) is currently running four days a week and train number 18103-04 (Jallianwala Bagh Express) two days a week from Tatanagar station whereas, both the trains were being run seven days a week earlier. A large number of people from Bihar and Punjab reside in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas. That’s why the number of passengers going to and coming from these two states is very high. At present, due to the reduction of frequency of these two trains from Tatanagar, the number of passengers has increased on the days allotted to the trains due to which children, women and elderly passengers are facing a lot of problems. On the other hand, train number 18029-30 (Howrah-Kurla Express) and train number 18615-16 (Kriya Yoga Express) should have a halt at Chakulia railway station like before the covid period. However, after the end of the covid period, when the movement of trains started, the stoppage of these trains at Chakulia railway station was cancelled which affected the common people, businessmen, working class, government employees and student. This has led to a situation where the area has also been cut off from the state capital Ranchi as there is no direct bus service available from here while Chakulia is the only railway station falling under Kolhan which is the financial capital of Jharkhand. The Speaker informed that a copy of the letter has also been sent to Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav and Chairman, Railway Board, Government of India to get the above demands fulfilled soon in the public interest.
