Jamshedpur’s Sakchi Gurudwara to conduct five-day Prabhat Pheri for Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th Prakash Parv

Jamshedpur, October 30: Preparations were underway at the Sakchi Gurdwara for the grand celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th Prakash Parv, marking the 556th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism. To commemorate the sacred occasion, the Gurudwara Management Committee, Sakchi, will begin a five-day Prabhat Pheri from October 31, Friday, connecting devotees with the Guru’s divine teachings during the early morning Amrit Vela.

According to Sardar Nishan Singh, President of the Gurudwara Management Committee, the celebrations will commence with the Prabhat Pheri, organized with the support of the Sikh Naujavan Sabha, Stree Satsang Sabha and Sukhmani Sahib Kirtani Jatha. The event was being coordinated by Paramjit Singh Kale, Surjit Singh Chhite, Preetpal Singh and Sardar Harvinder Singh. On the first day, the Prabhat Pheri will start at 3 a.m. from the Gurudwara Sahib and cover various routes through Guru Nanak Nagar and Sakchi. Kale has appealed to the Sangat to join the procession in large numbers to receive the Guru’s blessings and spread his message of peace and equality.

In preparation for the Prakash Parv, the Gurdwara complex was being decorated with colorful lights and floral arrangements, creating a spiritual and festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, students of Guru Nanak Higher Secondary and Middle Schools were enthusiastically rehearsing for the grand Nagar Kirtan scheduled for November 5. Under the guidance of Madhubala Sharma, Principal of the High School and Paramjit Kaur, Acting Principal of the Middle School, children were practicing Shabad recitations, Kirtan and disciplined march pasts accompanied by traditional band music.

The management committee expressed that such activities not only celebrated the Guru’s birth anniversary but also helped instill his timeless teachings of compassion, unity and humility among the younger generation.

President Nishan Singh urged the community to participate wholeheartedly in the upcoming Prabhat Pheris and Nagar Kirtan so that the divine light of Guru Nanak Dev Ji may illuminate every heart and home.
