Jamshedpur, October 30: Residents of the Baridih settlement were alarmed on Thursday after noticing laborers resuming construction work at the sealed Shri Ram Tower, a multi-story building located on the main road. The matter was immediately reported to social worker and Congress leader Bablu Jha, who visited the site and strongly condemned the unauthorized activity.
According to Bablu Jha, the Shri Ram Tower had been sealed multiple times by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) for violating building regulations. Despite repeated enforcement actions, construction had continued illegally. Jha provided a detailed record of the stoppages and sealings: work was first halted on January 14, 2022 and the building was sealed on June 16, 2022, April 28, 2023, May 6, 2023 and April 27, 2024 but the seal was illegally removed on October 30, 2025.
He alleged that all seals on the building had been broken, allowing work to resume unlawfully. Residents of the Baridih settlement protested the ongoing construction and demanded strict action against those responsible.
Bablu Jha further stated that a formal complaint (Memorandum No. 1415 dated August 2, 2023) had earlier been filed in the Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Office and copies were submitted to the Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner and JNAC officials. He questioned, “After one and a half years, under whose authorization has this illegal construction resumed?”
Calling it a deliberate attempt to “tarnish the image of the Jharkhand government,” Jha urged immediate intervention from the administration to stop the illegal work and identify those allowing it to continue. He also informed the Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner, and JNAC officials about the issue via Twitter, seeking prompt action to uphold law and order.
