Jamshedpur
In a move aimed at enhancing the safety of public assets, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has decided to install CCTV cameras across key government properties under its jurisdiction. The initiative is expected to curb theft and ensure better monitoring of infrastructure and equipment.
Key Locations Identified for Installation
Under the new plan, surveillance cameras will be installed at several prominent locations, including the Dishom Guru Memorial Library, Sidgora Depot, Son Mandap, and Town Hall. These sites are considered crucial due to their public importance and the presence of valuable assets.
Focus on Protecting Machinery and Equipment
Officials highlighted that the Sidgora Depot, which stores machinery, vehicles, and other essential equipment of the civic body, will receive special attention. The installation of cameras here is expected to significantly reduce the risk of theft and unauthorized access.
Real-Time Monitoring from Office
Apart from safeguarding assets, the CCTV system will also enable real-time monitoring of staff attendance and adherence to work protocols. JNAC officials will be able to oversee operations directly from their office, improving accountability and efficiency.
Step Towards Smarter Urban Governance
The move is being seen as part of a broader push toward adopting technology-driven governance practices in Jamshedpur. With the introduction of surveillance systems, JNAC aims to ensure transparency, better resource management, and enhanced public service delivery.
