Jamshedpur, July 21: Dr. Santosh Gupta, a well-known cardiologist and social worker, has spearheaded a special scheme under the National Medical Organization (NMO) to provide free treatment to Acharyas and priests. The move will commence from Mango.
During a press conference at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur, Dr. Gupta elaborated on the plan, which followed a comprehensive survey conducted with the help of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Mango Nagar. The survey collected data on the financial conditions of temple priests, the number of family members they support, and their educational status. Based on this information, a health card system has been devised to offer medical services to these families.
The health cards will grant access to various medical consultations and will be inclusive of general medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and super-specialist departments such as cardiology, neurology, oncology, nephrology, urology, and gastroenterology. The scheme aimed to cover the entire Jamshedpur area eventually, ensuring that all eligible Acharyas and priests received the benefits.
Moreover, diagnostic centers associated with NMO will provide up to a 50% discount on tests, and efforts are being made to ensure that all families had Ayushman cards. The initiative reflected a commitment to social security and well-being of those who contributed to the welfare of Sanatan Dharma. Dr. Gupta emphasized the responsibility of providing social security to these individuals, who worked tirelessly for the community’s spiritual welfare.
The press conference was attended by various specialists, including cancer expert Dr. Amit Kumar, neurologist Dr. Arun Kumar, and women and obstetrics specialist Dr. Panthobi Prasad, among others.
