Jamshedpur: The Beldih Club is set to host the esteemed Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament from Monday, November 11, to Friday, November 15, on its renowned sand-clay courts. The Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024, part of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Pro Circuit, is organized in association with the Jharkhand Tennis Association and offers a prize purse of Rs 1 lakh. Top-ranked players from across the country will compete for both cash rewards and ranking points, with the singles winner earning 20 national ranking points and the finalist securing 15.
Addressing a press meet, Mukul Vinayak Chaudhari, chief, sports, and Amitava Baksi, said that the tournament has attracted participants from 11 states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, and Maharashtra, along with players from the host state, Jharkhand. Tamil Nadu’s Oges Theyjo Jaya Prakash, ranked 32 nationally, will be the top seed in the Men’s Singles category.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Monday, November 11, at 7:30 am, with Chief Guest Ranjan Sinha, Chief Procurement Officer of Tata Steel, and Guests of Honour P.K. Ghose and Mukul Chaudhari were expected to attend. This event is set to be an exciting week for tennis enthusiasts, bringing top-tier competition to Jamshedpur.
