Jamshedpur’s Adhiraj, Navieka triumph at Jharkhand State Junior Chess Championship

Jamshedpur, Aug 14: Players from East Singhbhum delivered an impressive performance at the 24th Jharkhand State Junior (U19) FIDE Rating Chess Championship 2025, organised by Saluja Gold International School. The event concluded after eight rounds, with 49 participants competing.

In the Open category, Jamshedpur’s Adhiraj Mitra claimed the top spot with a perfect 8.0 points, followed by teammate Debanjan Sinha with 6.5 points. In the Girls’ category, Navieka Jaiswal secured first place with 5.5 points, while Pragya Bhardwaj and Kriti Kumari also finished in the top four.

Four boys and four girls, including these top performers, have qualified for the upcoming National Chess Championship. N.K. Tiwary, General Secretary, East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA) congratulated the winners.
