Jamshedpur youth shot at in Parsudih, critical

Jamshedpur, Feb 20: Unidentified assailants fired at one Mohammad Shahnawaz in Gadiwan Patti under Parsudih police station area on Monday evening. The bullet hit the victim in the head above his ear. The victim, a dealer in goats, was taken to Tata Main Hospital where his condition was reportedly critical.

Sources said the incident took place when Shahnawaz was herding his goats near a local pond. Just then four people approached him. One of them took out a gun and shot at him from close range, police said.

Earlier, on Sunday afternoon, the victim was allegedly assaulted by a group of people comprising Raju, Shahzada, Chhotu, Raja, Saleem, Badshah and one more person. Shahnawaz had complained to police and was reportedly threatened of dire consequences by the accused persons, police said.

SP City K Vijay Shankar also reached the hospital and investigated the matter. He said a search was on for the culprits.
