Jamshedpur, Dec 2: In a distressing incident, Jagjit Singh, also known as Munnu Singh, who had attended his girlfriend’s wedding, fell victim to a brutal assault in Birsanagar Zone No. 6, leading to his untimely demise on Thursday night. The tragic incident has prompted Jagjit’s younger brother, Avtar Singh, alias Ravi Singh, to file a murder case against Babli Singh and others at the Birsanagar police station.
According to the complaint lodged by Avtar Singh, Jagjit had visited Birsanagar Zone No. 6 on November 8 to attend the wedding of his girlfriend, Preeti. Shockingly, he was subjected to physical assault by members of the girlfriend’s family at the event. Following the brutal incident, Jagjit was admitted to MGM Hospital for medical attention. Subsequently, he was referred to RIMS, Ranchi, for advanced treatment. Despite the efforts, Jagjit succumbed to his injuries late on Thursday night after being brought back home post-treatment.
In response to the matter, Vivek Mathuri, the police station in-charge, affirmed that an FIR has been registered, and a thorough investigation is underway.
