Jamshedpur, July 20: A woman living in Govindpur police station area has made serious allegations against her in-laws in Delhi, such as dowry harassment, mental and physical abuse and eviction from the house.
The victim Trishala Pathak, a resident of Anantnagar (Govindpur), has named five people including her husband in the FIR lodged at the police station.
Trishala was married to Saurabh Kumar, a resident of Sadhnagar-2, Delhi, on 4 February 2024 through the Shaadi.com website.
After marriage, she moved to Delhi, where everything was normal initially. But within a few months, the behavior of the in-laws changed and harassment for dowry started.
According to Trishala, the in-laws first demanded Rs 2 lakh, which her parents transferred to Saurabh’s account. But despite this, Trishala was mentally and physically tortured. Soon the in-laws demanded an additional Rs 10 lakh and she was pressured to sell the house in Govindpur and pay the money and settle in Delhi.
When Trishala protested against this, she was beaten and eventually thrown out of the house. The named accused include husband Saurabh Kumar as well as father-in-law Jaishankar, mother-in-law Rinbu Jha, sister-in-law Diksha Kumari and another person Tarun Singh.
All the accused are originally residents of Nirala Nagar DG Colony in Pipra, Begusarai district of Bihar, who are currently living in Sadhnagar-2, Delhi. Trishala lodged a complaint at the police station, after which the Govindpur police have registered a case and investigation of the entire episode has been started. The victim has demanded justice and pleaded for strict action against the culprits.
