The two victims were identified on Saturday as 29-year-old Ravindra Kumar Das from Lakdapahari village in Banka district and Rahul Kumar Yadav from Bangladhavra village in Bardhaman district, West Bengal. The family members of both victims arrived in Tatanagar on Saturday morning to claim and identify the bodies.

The bodies of all the deceased have been handed over to their respective families by the Tatanagar Railway Police, and the grieving families have departed for their villages with their loved ones. The identification process was challenging due to the mutilated state of the bodies, requiring significant efforts by the police.

The other two victims were identified on Friday as 26-year-old Jai Ram Rai from the Jama police station area in Dumka district and 46-year-old Vijay Chaudhary from Khaj Munda village under Deori police station in Giridih district. Post-mortem examinations for all four bodies were conducted on Friday.

Ravindra Kumar Das, employed as a security guard in a company in Gamharia, and Vijay Chaudhary, a professional truck driver, had just concluded their holidays and were traveling towards their destinations after deboarding the Tata-Ara train at Gamhariya when the tragic accident occurred.

In the wake of the incident, South Eastern Railway GM Anil Kumar Mishra sought detailed information from DRM AJ Rathod, discussing the circumstances surrounding the accident and the sequence of events leading to the unfortunate deaths. Tatanagar Regional Manager Abhishek Singhal confirmed that, as of now, the Railways has not issued any orders for an official investigation. However, the GRP has registered an FIR, and further actions are being taken in accordance with the ongoing inquiry.
