Jamshedpur: Two cops injured on city roads, FIR lodged

Jamshedpur, Jan 27: An unidentified biker alleged knocked down Assistant Sub Inspector Kameshwar Pandey during a helmet checking drive in Azadnagar police station area on Friday. The officer was injured in the incident. He was taken to MGM Hospital where he was released after first aid. An FIR was registered against the unidentified biker.

According to Naresh Sinha, officer-in-charge, Azadnagar police station, “Two youths were coming on a bike towards the traffic barrier. None of them wore helmet. When Kameshwar Pandey signaled them to stop, they sped up and tried to escape. He was injured while trying to stop them.”

In another incident, one Nitya Kumar, a traffic police officer, was knocked down by a speeding car on his way to office. He sustained minor injuries in the incident, sources said.
